Terms of service
What we do, what we do not do, and what we each commit to.
These terms govern use of this website and the general basis of our services. The specific terms of any engagement (scope, fees, payment stages and deliverables) are set out in the written plan and engagement we issue after your consultation. Where the two differ, that written engagement takes precedence.
1. Who we are and what we provide
Next Step with Fabian provides relocation consultancy and document-preparation services for people moving from Nigeria to the Czech Republic, principally through the study and family-reunification routes.
We provide guidance, document preparation, coordination and administrative support. We do not make immigration decisions and we have no authority over anyone who does.
2. What we are not
To state this as plainly as possible, we are not:
- A law firm, and we do not provide legal representation or legal advice
- A government body, or an agent, representative or partner of any government body
- An agent of the Embassy of the Czech Republic, the Czech Ministry of the Interior, or any Czech university or college
- A recruitment agency or employer, and we do not provide job offers
- Able to issue, expedite, influence or guarantee any visa, permit or admission decision
Every immigration decision rests solely with the competent Czech authorities. Every admission decision rests solely with the institution. If you have been told otherwise by anyone, in relation to us or anybody else, treat it as a warning.
3. No guarantee of outcome
We do not guarantee that any application will succeed. Our fees are for the professional work we perform (assessment, preparation, coordination and support) and are not contingent on, or a purchase of, a particular result.
Where we consider an application likely to fail as it stands, we will tell you so and explain what would need to change. We would rather decline an engagement than accept a fee for work we expect to be refused.
4. Your obligations
You agree to:
- Give us complete and truthful information, including any previous visa refusals from any country
- Provide genuine, unaltered documents
- Only present funds that genuinely exist and that you or a properly documented sponsor genuinely control
- Respond to our requests and to official deadlines within the time available
- Attend appointments and provide biometrics in person where required
- Pay official fees and third-party costs when they fall due
- Tell us promptly if your circumstances change during a live application
5. Fraud and misrepresentation
We will not prepare, submit, assist with or knowingly tolerate any false, forged or misleading document or statement. This includes fabricated bank balances or statements, purchased or forged admission letters, invented employment or income, and false declarations about family relationships or immigration history.
If you ask us to do any of these things, or we discover you have provided false information, we will terminate the engagement immediately, fees for work already performed will remain payable, and we may be legally obliged to take further steps. This is not negotiable, and it protects you as much as us: visa fraud can bar you from the Schengen Area for years and is a criminal matter.
6. Fees and payment
Our fees are quoted in writing after your consultation, before any chargeable work begins, and are separate from and additional to official fees and third-party costs (translation, legalisation, courier, insurance, tuition and similar).
Our fees are:
- Never calculated as a percentage of the funds you are evidencing
- Payable in the stages set out in your written engagement
- Earned as work is performed, and so not automatically refundable if an application is refused
We will not ask you to send money to a personal account for “visa processing”. If anyone claiming to be us does, it is not us. Stop and call the numbers on our contact page.
7. If an application is refused
We will review the stated grounds with you and give you our honest assessment of whether re-application or appeal is worthwhile. We will not charge our fee again to resubmit substantially the same case into the same refusal.
Official fees and third-party costs already incurred are not recoverable from us, because we never received them. Where a refusal turns on a point of law, you will need a Czech-qualified lawyer, and we will say so.
8. Third parties
Some elements of your case necessarily depend on third parties: translators, legalising authorities, universities, couriers, insurers and government offices. We select and coordinate them carefully, but we are not responsible for their delays, errors, price changes or availability, and we cannot control government processing times or appointment availability.
9. Documents in our care
Where you entrust original documents to us, we will record what we have received, keep them secure, and return them when they are no longer required. We strongly recommend that certified copies and scans exist before any original leaves your possession, and we will normally insist on it.
10. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Subject to that, we are not liable for the outcome of any application, for the acts, omissions or delays of any government authority or third party, or for indirect or consequential losses, including for example lost tuition deposits, lost earnings, non-refundable travel bookings, or a missed academic intake.
Our total liability arising out of an engagement is limited to the fees you have paid us in respect of that engagement.
11. Information on this website
The guidance on this website is general information, last reviewed September 2026. Czech immigration requirements, fees, thresholds and processing times change, sometimes at short notice.
Nothing here is advice on your specific circumstances, and nothing here overrides the current official requirements published by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Abuja, the Czech Ministry of the Interior, or the institution you are applying to. Always confirm current requirements before acting, and do not treat any figure or timescale on this site as a commitment.
12. Ending an engagement
You may end an engagement at any time by telling us in writing. Fees for work already performed remain payable, and we will return your documents and provide a handover of the case status.
We may end an engagement where you provide false information, ask us to act dishonestly, fail to pay agreed fees, or fail to respond such that we cannot meet an official deadline.
13. Governing law
The governing law and the courts having jurisdiction over any dispute are as set out in your written engagement. If you need this confirmed before engaging us, ask and we will tell you.
